(Pflugerville, TX) on Monday George Hindman, the 3rd place finisher in the CD 17 primary election, announced that after taking time to consider the CD 17 runoff election he has decided to support Pete Sessions on May 26th.
Hindman made the announcement saying, “It’s no secret I hoped March 3rd would have gone differently. We now have two candidates from the more establishment wing of the Republican Party, so we must choose who is best for our community. In my opinion, the choice is clear. Pete Sessions is the only remaining candidate who can unite Republicans from multiple factions in this community. Pete and his supporters spent their time in the primary talking about their campaign, not lying about their opponents. Furthermore, Pete has a better grasp of the issues facing our community and nation. Therefore, I endorse and will be voting for Pete Sessions in the runoff. Given the importance of voting in the May 26th election, I expect that many of my supporters will likewise understand the reality of our situation and vote for Pete as well.”
Sessions responded to Hindman’s support saying, “I’m honored to have the support of George Hindman. George is a respected conservative leader who conducted himself with integrity throughout this campaign. He will be a valuable part of our team as we work to elect a conservative to represent Central Texas. I have assured George that defending our Second Amendment freedoms and diverting all taxpayer dollars away from planned parenthood will be priorities of mine. We also share a belief that conservative members of Congress, including members of the House Freedom Caucus, have a strong voice in the House of Representatives. I look forward to working with George and conservative leaders throughout our district as we fight to protect our freedom and make our nation stronger.”
